Librat is a license for intellectual properties (IPs) that encapsulates an open-access legal framework for creators by being libre, gratis, providing production information and assets, and requiring monetization to be transformative unless you are the creator of the original IP.
Librat may be copied and applied to your own original or legally transformative works under the same conditions.
By licensing their work under 'Librat', the licensor (copyright holder) unambiguously offers the license's terms as legally binding, perpetual, and irrevocable conditions.
These terms apply to any recipient who accepts the license and may be enforced against downstream users.

Freely and publicly available means accessible via a standard, un-throttled, universally accessible public repository or website with zero mandatory account creation, data harvesting, or speed caps.
Any party that commercially distributes, sells, or accepts payment (including sales, donations, pay-what-you-want, crowdfunding rewards, or commissions) for Librat licensed IPs must also make the full, corresponding source files present in the final work and (if digital) final work itself freely and publicly available at no cost under the same license.
Source files are the relevant project files and may include: texture files, audio files, concept artwork, model files, video files, graphic program files, video editing program files, etc.

**A sole mandatory paywall is strictly prohibited for the access of digital content.
The work must be freely accessible at the time of first commercial distribution and kept available for the same duration as the commercial offering.
Anyone who receives the freely available digital files may copy, redistribute, and make derivative works under the same license terms.
Artists are permitted to be commissioned, contracted, or receive donations to create original or derivative transformative works based on Librat-licensed material.
Transformative is defined pursuant to Fair Use Law's definition.
Payment to creators is permitted only for labor, services, and goods; NOT the privatization of digital content.
Any commissioned, contracted, or donation‑funded work must be released publicly and freely in digital form under this same license.
Sale of physical goods or paid events that include the licensed material (e.g., printed books, merchandise, exhibition tickets) is permitted if the product is transformative of an original work or given explicit permission by the licensors of the original work; this is the only exception to a paywall as it requires goods or estate that are not free.
However, the complete digital text, images, models, or files embodied in those physical goods or presented at those events must also be provided freely and publicly under the same license, via a public link upon release and for as long as the product is sold.
All works created primarily by LLMs (Large Language Models) or generative A.I. (i.e., where A.I., rather than a human, is the primary creative author) are not eligible to be licensed under Librat and may not be distributed commercially under this license.
Examples of LLMs and generative A.I. include but are not limited to: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Duck.ai, Sora, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, Suno, etc.
Works may include minor generative A.I. usage present through assistance, planning, satire, critique, or reference, but must explicitly disclose the generative A.I.'s role and contributions in thorough detail within the work, as a public resource accessible within the work, alongside the work, or in a copy of this license via link or plain text with the work.
By using this license, you attest this work was not created primarily by generative A.I.
All works must credit those responsible for it, their corresponding roles, including the original works' contributors and roles if derivative.
Credit must be retroactively maintained, if new member(s) add to your work after you licensed it under Librat, you have to update your credits to include their name(s) and role(s).
All credit must be either: within the work, as a public resource freely accessible with the work, or in a copy of this license via link or plain text with the work.

Failure to comply with this license constitutes a breach of the license terms and may result in termination of the license for the non‑complying party.
Remedies available to the licensor and authorized representatives include injunctive relief and any other remedies under applicable law.
